How to organize your ties in under 10 minutes
Putting away a clients ties the other day, I opened up his tie drawer to find complete chaos! His lovely ties were a jumbled mess. I stood there in wonderment as to how this even happened. I got excited at the joy of a project! It literally took no time at all. The longest part was shopping for the trays. Once that was done it literally took me less than 10 mins to organize his ties. So I wanted to share my solution of how to organize your ties in under 10 minutes.
I have tried numerous ways over the years to store a variety of collections of ties. I found putting them in a drawer was easier then my experience with hanging them. It is easier to see them in a drawer compared to hanging in a dark row in the closet, where they become squished by all the other items and slip off the hanger or rod and end up on the floor crumpled an lost.
Having them in a drawer has eliminated a lot of these issues, and when organized allows my client to see exactly what the have to select from.
Time to tame the ties
I did not want to wait for delivery as I knew this was a task I could take care of quickly. I took the interior measurements of the drawer and off I went. Although I was in a small town, there was a nice selection of stores that offer discount shopping. Stores such as TJ Maxx, Tuesday Morning, Burlington Coat Factory, and Ross. These stores are perfect for finding storage solutions such as this, and are located pretty much everywhere.
Tuesday Morning had just the ideal option. There was a handful of jewelry trays in various configurations and the 12″ x 8″ tray divided into six 4″ x 4″ compartments was perfect! They were not only the right size to store the ties, but they fit perfectly in the drawers where the ties are kept. Find similar trays here
